Sulfur is recovered during gas manufacturing as a molten sulfur. It is then cooled on a stainless steel belt and forms into a flake form. This is the exact flake form in which we sell. Ground sulfur powder is these flakes being ground up in a mill to make the powder form. Both sulfurs are quite pure and are EPA recognized as ok for Animal Feed / consumption.
Sublimed sulfur is recovered from the same manufacturing process, except it is precipitated from the gas in a vapor state rather than through the molten method. This is guaranteed to be safe for human consumption and is considered to be USP grade. USP grade sulfur is no longer produced in the united states and is mostly unavailable. This is due to low demand for human consumption and also the fact that sublimed sulfer is actually no purer than the sulfur we carry. The only different is it is not officially USP grade (for human consumption).
Sulfur flakes are the purest form of sulfur. They are the least modified. They have very little odor, if any at all, and are much more dense than the processed sulfur powder.
The flakes are also less messy and are less likely to have any additives due to the lack of processing in their making. Our sulfur flakes are made in the USA.
